The North Face is an American company that produces goods for active recreation. It produces clothes, shoes and equipment for outdoor activities. Founded in 1968 to cater to mountain climbers, the company took its inspiration for the logo from the unique Half Dome rock formation, which rises more than 8,700 feet (2,700 m) above sea level in Yosemite National Park. By the end of the 1990s, the brand expanded its audience by turning to street fashion, and since the 2000s has become a symbol of streetwear style.
